Dom's 2012 Races

I am signed up for the Coeur d' Alene Ironman on June 24th. Other than that I have not officially signed up for any races.
I am looking forward to the Ultimate Relay in August and I think it would be fun to try and get other departments involved. We could put together a pretty solid team with UFA firefighters and compete against other departments in the valley.
Another race that is pretty sweet is the Park City Mid Mountain Marathon. It is a trail marathon that starts at Deer Valley and ends at the Canyons. BC Woolsey and I did it last year with minimal training so we are looking forward for the chance to improve our times.

Heath's intended race schedule for 2012

I watched the 2011 Kona Ironman Championships last night and after seeing all the superfit uber athletes decided that 2012 would be like my 2009 season with 6 races ending the season with The Vineman Ironman in Northern California. Although I do not plan on doing a full Ironman next year I do plan on doing a lot of races.

I have chosen Tri Utah's Race series as my schedule and it will go something like this...

Moab Tri Festival - June 9th

River Rampage Tri, Green River - June 30

Echo Tri - July 14

Ultimate Tri Relay - August 4

Jordanelle Tri - August 18

Ogden Valley Tri - September

Im excited about this season, especially to see how fit this i can get my fat body to be.

How i feel and look right now.

UFA Tri Clubs New Blog

To make things a little easier and information more accessible for our members we have created this Blog for the UFA Tri Club.  We did this on top of our already running Facebook page and site on the Local 1696 web page so that those who don't Facebook or are not part of the "Local" can be a more active part of this club.  From now on we will continue to use the Facebook page and this blog regularly.  The use of the site on the Local 1696 web page will be saved for periodic updates and photos.

We are really excited to get things going for the 2012 season!
